ST2000/D Silt Trap delivered to an independent construction materials supplier located in Norwich.
The build-up of silt and dirt in drainage systems can be a major problem, particularly from vehicle wash facilities and the silt guard is designed to effectively trap the silt before it enters the drainage system. We’ve recently supplied a Morclean ST2000/D Silt Trap to an independent construction materials supplier run by a local team with many years of experience supplying quality materials to the full spectrum of the construction industry throughout East Anglia.
Often, silt traps are used within the construction or mining industries. As a result of the nature of the industry, activities can result in the production of small particles of stone, wood and more, which can then be carried by rainwater into the drainage system and can cause serious issues.
What is a Silt Trap?
Morclean Silt Traps are specially designed as a way of collecting wastewater, typically within the vehicle washing industry. Placed prior to an interceptor, Silt Traps work to filter out any large bits of debris and dirt, to make sure that it doesn’t enter the interceptor. The Silt Traps are usually positioned in the centre of the wash bay, enveloped with a slight decline to ensure the water runs down into the silt traps and can be accessed via a hinged galvanised grating, for easy manual emptying.
Example of Silt Traps |
The structure contains the water and is fitted with an outlet for connection to a mains foul drain via the interceptor. Morclean offers a range of silt traps with capacities suitable for both heavy and lighter use. See the full range here
