Morclean supports the Three Peaks Challenge
A dedicated team of eleven parents from Lea, near Matlock in Derbyshire, will be taking on the gruelling National Three Peaks Challenge.
11 Parents to Tackle National Three Peaks Challenge for Local School
All within a tight 24-hour window to raise funds for the Friends of Lea School (FOLs). All proceeds going toward curriculum enrichment activities and ensuring that every child at Lea Primary can access trips and experiences that enhance learning.
The challenge involves climbing the three highest peaks in Scotland, England, and Wales — all while travelling between them in under 24 hours. The team will begin at Ben Nevis in Scotland (1,345m / 4,413ft), then move south to tackle Scafell Pike in the Lake District (978m / 3,210ft), and finally ascend Snowdon in Wales (1,085m / 3,560ft) — likely with very tired legs!
In total, they’ll cover 23 miles (37km) on foot, climb 3,064 metres (10,052 ft), and travel over 460 miles by road. It’s an incredibly tough challenge involving steep ascents, rough terrain, and the added fatigue of sleep deprivation — all while carrying essential supplies.
Aiming to raise over £3,500
The team is aiming to raise over £3,500, which will go directly to supporting school trips, vital resources, and equipment that make a real difference in the classroom.
